Recap: M.L. King Lions vs. Social Circle Redskins

The M.L. King Lions had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 75-52 margin over Social Circle. Given M.L. King's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Social Circle is ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Devin Bowers, who scored 28 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quamon Ellison, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

M.L. King's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Social Circle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

M.L. King and Seckinger will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Social Circle will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jenkins at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th.
