Baseball Game Preview: Johnson Governors vs. Harding Knights

Johnson is a perfect 10-0 against Harding since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Governors will head out on the road to take on the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Johnson comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Johnson came up short against Nova Classical Academy on Tuesday, falling 32-4.

St. Paul Central hit Harding with a nine-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights lost 14-4 to the Minutemen.

Mikey Xiong made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Oxley, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Harding, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything went Johnson's way against Harding when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Johnson made off with a 16-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Governors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
