Baseball Game Preview: West Texas Comanches vs. Highland Park Hornets

The West Texas Comanches will face off against the Highland Park Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Gruver hit West Texas with a five-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comanches came up short against the Greyhounds, falling 13-1. The loss continues a trend for the Comanches in their meetings with the Greyhounds: they've now lost eight in a row.

West Texas saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Summit, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run. Hunter Line also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Highland Park lost 18-2 to Sunray on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Hornets have lost by exactly 16 runs.

Highland Park's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for West Texas, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Texas has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Highland Park struggles in that department as they've averaged .501. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
