Sam Shaughessy Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Thursday, Blaine got the W thanks in part to Sam Shaughessy playing the best football he has all season. Shaughessy rushed for 212 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 125 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Blaine pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Shaughessy and Blaine will take on Shakopee at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Peyton Podany produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Anoka to the win on Thursday. Podany threw for 330 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt.
The win (which was Anoka's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Podany and Anoka will be playing at home against Wayzata at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Welch Made His Presence Known in Anoka's 55-19 Victory
Another Anoka player making an appearance on this list is Zach Welch. He rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and a touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.
This season, Welch has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 27.6 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he had two rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to 12.

Charlie Hendrickson produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Anoka to the win on Thursday. Hendrickson picked up 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 72 yards.
On the season, Hendrickson has caught those 2 touchdowns while averaging 33.4 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 0.2 receiving yards per game.
