Football Recap: Lynnwood Royals vs. Shorewood Stormrays
Lynnwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 49-7 loss at the hands of the Shorewood Stormrays. The Royals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.
A big part of Shorewood's win came down to the chemistry between Tyler Giles and his top target Finn Bachler. Giles rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown on only five carries while Bachler rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown. Bachler got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 91 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Frank Burn, who rushed for 25 yards and two touchdowns.
Lynnwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Shorewood, their record is now 3-1.
Lynnwood will head out on the road to square off against Mariner at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lynnwood is facing Mariner at the right time seeing as Mariner is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Shorewood, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Everett at 7:00 p.m.
