Basketball Game Preview: Service Cougars vs. Eagle River Wolves

The Service Cougars will square off against the Eagle River Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Service is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Bettye Davis East Anchorage, who was ranked first at the time (Service was ranked sixth). Service received a blow on Friday as they fell 64-48 to Bettye Davis East Anchorage. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Eagle River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They came up short against South Anchorage, falling 64-39.

Service's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Eagle River, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

Everything came up roses for Service against Eagle River in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as the team secured an 85-36 win. Will Service repeat their success, or does Eagle River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
