Softball Recap: Fillmore Central/Lanesboro Comes Up Short

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander Superlarks. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Superlarks when the teams met back in April of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jensyn Storhoff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Fillmore Central/Lanesboro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Norah Nagel, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Nagel has brought in this season.

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4.

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro has already played their next game, an 18-4 loss against Plainview-Elgin-Millville on the 17th. As for Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-1 defeat against Mabel-Canton on the 22nd.
