Basketball Recap: Fountain Hills Snags 12th Win in Last 14 Games

Fountain Hills had won two straight games and Ahren Lloyd did his part to make it three on Friday. The Fountain Hills Falcons put the hurt on the Madison Highland Prep Heat with a sharp 55-33 victory thanks in part to Lloyd, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Matthew Heaney, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, Madison Highland Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cade Carlstrom went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Morlan, who posted two points and seven boards.

Fountain Hills is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Madison Highland Prep, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4.

Fountain Hills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-26 win against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy on the 28th. As for Madison Highland Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-23 victory against BASIS Phoenix on the 27th.
