Basketball Recap: Oakley Browning's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Manila over Wendover

Manila was the 73-39 winner over Wendover when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Manila Mustangs fell to the Wendover Wildcats 52-48. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Oakley Browning, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Browning a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Slaugh, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Manila smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Manila's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Wendover, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-18 record this season.

As of now, neither Manila nor Wendover have any future games scheduled.
