Football Recap: Tri-City Christian Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Tri-City Christian's offense. They were beaten by the Mountain Empire Redhawks 34-0 on Friday. The loss leaves the Eagles still looking for their first win of the season.

Mountain Empire was led to victory by Chance Ross and Amar Mahasin. Ross rushed for 61 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, while Mahasin rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Those 76 rushing yards gave Mahasin a new career-high.

Tri-City Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Mountain Empire, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Tri-City Christian will head out on the road to take on Rock Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mountain Empire, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Victory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m.
