Mission Viejo is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a 57-40 bruising from Capistrano Valley.

Mission Viejo's defeat came about despite a quality game from Damian Navarro, who posted 20 points. Navarro's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Meanwhile, Aliso Niguel was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 43-42 to Dana Hills. The loss continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Dolphins: they've now lost four in a row.

Aliso Niguel's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Mission Viejo, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-14.

Mission Viejo came out on top in a nail-biter against Aliso Niguel in their previous matchup on January 10th, sneaking past 52-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mission Viejo since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
