Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Watertown). They blew past the Monterey Wildcats 71-51 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Purple Tigers have posted since December 10, 2024.

Monterey lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Garrett Wessels, who went 5-for-9 en route to 15 points. What's more, he also posted a 56% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brayden Reams, who posted 12 points.

Watertown's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Monterey, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season.

Looking ahead, Watertown will head out to face off against Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Watertown likes a good challenge. Monterey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
