Recap: Desert View Jaguars vs. Sunnyside Blue Devils
The Desert View Jaguars''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 35-14 walloping at the hands of Sunnyside. Desert View lost against Sunnyside in their previous head to head back in September of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 16-6 score last time.
Despite the loss, Desert View still got an impressive performance from Kevin Zleh, who rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Zleh has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last five times he's played.
Samario Garcia was a one-man wrecking crew for Sunnyside as he rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Garcia's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards.
Desert View's defeat was their third straight at home , which bumped their record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.3 points per game. As for Sunnyside, their win bumped their record up to 5-5.
Desert View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sunnyside also has no future games currently scheduled.
