Softball Recap: Mars Hill Bible Snags 17th Victory in Last 21 Games

Mars Hill Bible won the last time they faced Sheffield and things went their way on Monday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 16 games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Lila Embry, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Stegall, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Mars Hill Bible always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sheffield only posted an OBP of .333.

Mars Hill Bible has been performing well recently as they've won 17 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Sheffield, their loss was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-18.

Mars Hill Bible has already played their next contest, a 4-2 victory against Colbert Heights on the 8th. Sheffield has also already played their next game (against Phil Campbell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
