Towanda took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Elk Lake, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Towanda had just enough and edged out Elk Lake 9-7. With that win, the Black Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Gianni Assante, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

The victory got Towanda back to even at 2-2. As for Elk Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Towanda will host Troy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elk Lake, they will be playing at home against Tunkhannock at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
