Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Bishop's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

It's playoff time, and Bishop had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Imperial Tigers on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one run.

Henry Armstrong spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Bishop's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Clyde Kates, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. Alex Moreno was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Bishop's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Imperial only posted a batting average of .185.

Bishop's has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Imperial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13.

As of now, neither Bishop's nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
