Football Recap: Sonoma Valley Dragons vs. Sacramento Dragons
Sonoma Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 48-0 defeat at the hands of Sacramento on Friday. While losing is never fun, Sonoma Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 454th, while Sacramento is ranked 166th).
Dalan Lopata threw for 109 yards on 13 of 31 attempts. Colin Buckley was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards. On the ground, Cayden Waldrop rushed for 43 yards.
Leading Sacramento to victory were Laron James-Radcliffe and Cordell Radcliffe. James-Radcliffe threw for 113 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes, while Radcliffe rushed for 141 yards and one score while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.
