Walter Johnson dropped their record down to 16-4 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Damascus Hornets. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

As for Damascus, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.

For Damascus' part, Mason Walter made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Walter was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other pitching news, Will Heyse and Ryan Mungra dominated on the mound. Heyse pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Mungra tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Heyse has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Damascus' win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cam Wilberding, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Walter Johnson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Richard Montgomery on the 7th. Damascus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
