Basketball Game Preview: Tellico Plains Bears vs. Roane County Yellowjackets

Tellico Plains hasn't had much luck against Roane County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tellico Plains Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Roane County Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Tellico Plains' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Friday, Tellico Plains took their game with ease, bagging a 65-31 victory over Meigs County. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Roane County had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They walked away with a 91-80 win over the Chargers. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Chargers are ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tellico Plains pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Roane County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

Tellico Plains couldn't quite finish off Roane County when the teams last played last Monday and fell 83-81. Can Tellico Plains avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
