The ITW David Speer Academy Pride will venture away from home to challenge the Payton College Prep Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. ITW David Speer Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
ITW David Speer Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They never let Golder get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pride in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.
Sophia Hernandez looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anaiyah Costoso, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with eight stolen bases and three runs. Those eight stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Janelise Cosme, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Meanwhile, Payton College Prep made easy work of Northside on Monday and carried off a 7-0 victory.
Johannah Kimbler made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Molly Vann was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Maren Theyssen, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Payton College Prep has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for ITW David Speer Academy, their record now sits at 16-11.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. ITW David Speer Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .436. However, it's not like Payton College Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
