Baseball Recap: Scarsdale Gets the Win

Scarsdale came out on top against Hastings on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run first inning. The Raiders took their matchup against the Yellow Jackets 8-5. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Yellow Jackets, too.

Tyler Korsten looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits.

At the plate, Henry Lamberg and Finn Pearson did most of the damage at the plate: Lamberg went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Pearson went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Matthew Zoland, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Scarsdale and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Hastings, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Scarsdale will take on Port Chester at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hastings, they will head out to square off against Ardsley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
