Softball Recap: Moreau Catholic Comes Up Short

Moreau Catholic extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-10. They came up short against the Bishop Manogue Miners, falling 11-0. Considering the last time the Mariners couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

As for Bishop Manogue, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 16-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games.

For Bishop Manogue's part, the team relied heavily on Sis King, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI King has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Averie Stephan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Moreau Catholic will face off against Galena at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bishop Manogue, they will take on Newark Memorial in a tournament on Saturday.
