Volleyball Recap: Mira Mesa Falls to Lincoln in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Mira Mesa had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Lincoln Hornets. The defeat continues a trend for the Marauders in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

While Mira Mesa ultimately came up short, they really made Lincoln work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 27-25, 25-19.

Mira Mesa's offense was headlined by Ivanna Nguyen and Kanaiya Parham, who picked up six kills apiece. Parham really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 16. Kalilea Popperwill controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Lincoln's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mira Mesa will square off against Oceanside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will face off against Olympian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
