Soccer Game Preview: Cyprus vs. Hunter

Cyprus is 1-8-1 against Hunter since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Cyprus was handed a six-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They never let West Jordan get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Hunter and Kearns have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Wolverines had just enough and edged out the Cougars 2-1. The victory continues a trend for Hunter in their matchups with Kearns: they've now won three in a row.

Alan Garcia and Kallin Banza scored both of Hunter's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Hunter's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Cyprus, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
