Basketball Recap: Guilderland Takes a Loss

Guilderland lost against Christian Brothers Academy back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Guilderland Flying Dutchmen took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christian Brothers Academy Brothers. While losing is never fun, the Flying Dutchmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 450th, while the Brothers are ranked 135th).

Christian Brothers Academy found their leader in sophomore Jj Osinski, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards set a new season-high mark for Osinski. Jack Hulett was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 15 points.

Guilderland's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Christian Brothers Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Guilderland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-52 win against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on the 14th. Christian Brothers Academy has also already played their next matchup, an 82-55 victory against Schenectady on the 10th.
