The West Warwick Wizards will take on the Toll Gate Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Warwick has five straight victories, Toll Gate has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
West Warwick is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Scituate, who was ranked 24th at the time (West Warwick was ranked eighth). The Wizards blew past the Spartans 11-1 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Wizards, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Anthony Burt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jair Blanco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Nick Andruchow was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
West Warwick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scituate only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Toll Gate came up short against Ponaganset on Wednesday and fell 5-2.
Braeden Geer was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.
West Warwick's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Toll Gate, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Toll Gate's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Warwick hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. It's a different story for Toll Gate, though, as they've only averaged .163. Will they be able to contain West Warwick's hitters?
West Warwick beat Toll Gate 5-0 in their previous meeting on April 4th. Do the Wizards have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
