Baseball Game Preview: Clay County Bulldogs vs. Pickett County Bobcats

For the second straight game, Clay County will face off against Pickett County. The Bulldogs will host the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clay County has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Clay County is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Pickett County 16-15. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Witt Kaslikowski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kolton Brown, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Waylon Cherry, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-6.

Pickett County moved to 7-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Clay County, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
