Renaissance Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Valley Forge Military Academy Trojans 12-1. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.
The team relied heavily on Aiden Keyes, who scored a run and stole a base while going 9-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in home runs (nine). Jack Vadino was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Renaissance Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .774. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Forge Military Academy only posted an OBP of .167.
Renaissance Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lincoln Leadership Academy at 3:15 p.m. on March 25th. As for Valley Forge Military Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 20-1 loss against MAST Community Charter on the 18th.
