Baseball Game Preview: St. Pauls Bulldogs vs. Red Springs Red Devils

For the second straight game, St. Pauls will face off against Red Springs. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, St. Pauls came up short against Red Springs and fell 6-2. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Red Springs' part, Xzavier Sinclair made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). Sinclair has become a key player for Red Springs: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Sinclair was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alfredo Lowery, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Blue, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Red Springs moved to 5-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for St. Pauls, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-7.
