Basketball Recap: Tyler Myers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Uplift Elevate Prep over Great Hearts Irving

On Wednesday, the Uplift Elevate Prep Blue Jays came up short against the Great Hearts Irving Mustangs and fell 56-47. The Blue Jays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Uplift Elevate Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyler Myers, who posted seven points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Myers a new career-high in blocks (two). Dan Rey De Guzman was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Leading Great Hearts Irving to victory were Kyle Crissey and Amara Ehiobu. Crissey dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards, while Ehiobu dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jakes Maundu, who went 5 for 10 en route to 10 points and five steals.

Uplift Elevate Prep's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Great Hearts Irving, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
