League recap: League supremacy in the balance for San Fernando, Kennedy this week

Valley Mission league recap: 3/8/13

First place in the standings of Valley Mission is up for grabs this week, as Kennedy sits tied atop the standings with San Fernando.

The Tigers outpaced the rest of the league this week, as their three total wins led the league. San Fernando beat Palisades 6-5, Hueneme 4-1 and Campbell Hall 7-2.

Canoga Park's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 14 hits and two walks to lead the league in both categories.

The highest batting average in the league this week belonged to Sylmar's Zacarias Navarro, who churned out six hits in ten at bats for a .600 average. He's batting .571 on the year, which puts him at second in the league. Navarro has eight hits total this season.



The most RBI in the league this week belonged to the Spartans' Alejandro Gutierrez, who drove in four. Gutierrez has five RBIs this season, first in the league.
