Volleyball Recap: West Jessamine Gets the Win

West Jessamine hadn't done well against Central Hardin recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Colts came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bruins, sneaking past 3-2. This was payback for the Colts, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ashlyn Crutcher paced West Jessamine's offense, picking up 19 kills. Crutcher got some help from Taylor Snowden and her 35 assists. Crutcher also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Riley Cissell, each putting up two.

When it comes to explaining why Central Hardin lost, don't look at Rylie Conley. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and one assist. Taylor Nichols also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for West Jessamine and bumps their season record up to 22-11. As for Central Hardin, their loss dropped their record down to 22-9.

Coincidentally, West Jessamine and Central Hardin will both be playing Owensboro Catholic the next time they take the court. The Colts will head out to face the Aces at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Bruins will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
