Basketball Recap: Pike Central Comes Up Short

Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 42-27 to the Loogootee Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chargers of the 37-33 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Loogootee's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alaina Diamond, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 boards. What's more, Diamond also racked up seven blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2023. Madison Waggner was another key player, putting up 17 points and seven rebounds.

Pike Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Loogootee, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Pike Central has already played their next matchup (against White River Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Loogootee has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Vincennes Rivet.
