Recap: Lithia Springs Lions vs. Mays Raiders
The Lithia Springs Lions fell victim to the Mays Raiders''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Raiders, falling 30-0. While losing is never fun, Lithia Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Mays is ranked 76th).
Malachi Evans threw for 46 yards on four of 16 attempts. Randy Parker was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards. On the ground, Christopher Parks rushed for 99 yards.
Lithia Springs' loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.3 points per game. As for Mays, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Lithia Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mays will look to defend their home field on Friday against Loganville at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Loganville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four last Friday.
