Basketball Recap: Okeechobee Takes Down Jensen Beach in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Okeechobee had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They skirted past the Jensen Beach Falcons 55-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Brahmans have posted since December 17, 2024.

Okeechobee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Oliver Saunders led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Okeechobee is 5-1 when Saunders posts ten or more boards, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Channing Delagall, who went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cordell Wilkins, who posted 14 points and three steals. Lincoln Campo was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Okeechobee's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Jensen Beach, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 14-11.

Okeechobee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-38 defeat against South Fork on the 7th. Jensen Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
