Baseball Game Preview: Smoky Mountain Mustangs vs. Franklin Panthers

The Smoky Mountain Mustangs will challenge the Franklin Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Smoky Mountain, who comes in off a win.

Smoky Mountain is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Hendersonville with a sharp 23-12 win on Wednesday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Franklin might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was North Henderson who claimed the real prize. Franklin lost 13-3 to North Henderson. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Anderson Terrell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Smoky Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Smoky Mountain might still be hurting after the 13-2 defeat they got from Franklin in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Smoky Mountain avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
