Volleyball Recap: Loyola Academy's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Loyola Academy hadn't done well against Mother McAuley recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Ramblers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Mighty Macs. Winning may never get old, but the Ramblers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16.

Mother McAuley's loss came despite strong showings from Lucy Maloney and Natalie DeMatteo. Maloney had 12 digs, while DeMatteo had five digs. Maloney is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Loyola Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Mother McAuley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 15-1.

Loyola Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Waubonsie Valley on the 20th. As for Mother McAuley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marist at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
