Geneva couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 37-28 to the San Antonio Christian Lions on Friday. Geneva gained 102 more yards on the day, but it was San Antonio Christian that made the best use of them.

Geneva lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caleb Quitadamo, who threw for 388 yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Brady Chandler was Quitadamo's top target, picking up 176 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Even though they lost, Geneva was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 447 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Antonio Christian only gained 345.

A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Sloan Guillory and his top target Peyton Gordon. Guillory rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns while Gordon gained 110 total yards. Hudson Russell made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Geneva will welcome La Pryor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Antonio Christian, they will face off against Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
