Softball Recap: Seaforth Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Seaforth had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Jordan-Matthews Jets by a score of 7-3. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 9-4 win last Tuesday.

Emma Grace Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Seaforth got a massive performance out of Annika Johansson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Alyssa Harris was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Seaforth's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Jordan-Matthews, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-8.

Looking ahead, Seaforth will face off against Southeast Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stallions have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. Jordan-Matthews does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
