Basketball Recap: Cave City Comes Up Short

The Cave City Cavemen came up short against the Valley Springs Tigers on Tuesday, falling 56-30. While losing is never fun, the Cavemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Tigers are ranked 20th).

This is the second loss in a row for Cave City and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Valley Springs, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Cave City will be home for the holidays to greet Bergman at 5:00 p.m. on December 17th. One thing working in Bergman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Valley Springs, they will head out to face off against Salem at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Salem likes a good challenge.
