Preview: Lake View Wild Gators vs. Latta Vikings
Lake View has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Latta Vikings at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Lake View has not done well against Hannah-Pamplico recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lake View secured a 41-36 W over Hannah-Pamplico.
Meanwhile, Latta scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They skirted past East Clarendon 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Latta has posted yet this season.
Latta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amir Rogers, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Rogers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Jones, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Lake View's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Latta, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11.
Lake View was able to grind out a solid victory over Latta when the teams last played on January 10th, winning 58-48. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Rogers, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
