Softball Recap: Space Coast Drops Highest Score of Season Against Heritage

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Space Coast). They were the clear victors by a 21-4 margin over the Heritage Panthers on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Vipers, who have now won nine matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kyleigh Wise, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Kami Dacko was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

The win was the fourth in a row for Space Coast, bringing their record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Space Coast will welcome Merritt Island Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vipers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Heritage, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Palm Bay at 6:00 p.m. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.6 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
