Soccer Game Preview: Currituck County vs. First Flight

Currituck County hasn't had much luck against First Flight recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Knights will square off against the Nighthawks at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

First Flight will be up against a hot Currituck County team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Knights put the hurt on Pasquotank County with a sharp 8-1 win on Monday. With Currituck County ahead 4-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Meanwhile, First Flight kept a clean sheet against Hertford County on Monday. They blew past the Bears 9-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering First Flight's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Hertford County are ranked 571st).

Currituck County's record is now 11-8-2. As for First Flight, their record now sits at 12-2-2.

Currituck County suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to First Flight in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
