Basketball Recap: Braeon Arceneaux Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Friendswood

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against La Porte, Ball was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Friendswood Mustangs by a score of 64-55. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tornadoes' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 617th, while the Mustangs are ranked 222nd).

Ball got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braeon Arceneaux out in front who went 9 for 21 on her way to 27 points and eight steals. That's the most steals Arceneaux has posted since back in January. Kalyn Toussaint was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 assists.

Ball's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Friendswood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.

Ball will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Texas City at 11:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Friendswood, they will take on Sterling in a tournament on Friday.
