Basketball Recap: Herlong Vikings vs. Plumas Charter Warriors
This season hasn't been kind to the Herlong Vikings, who are still winless after their 13th matchup. They suffered a tough 66-43 defeat at the hands of Plumas Charter on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Herlong of the 72-34 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Dalton Bentz was his usual excellent self, scoring 37 points along with seven rebounds and five assists for Plumas Charter. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bentz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Owen Joseph, who scored seven points.
Herlong dropped their record down to 0-13 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Plumas Charter, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-11.
Herlong will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Plumas Charter, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
