Softball Recap: Mulberry Wins Going Away Against Kathleen

Mulberry's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Kathleen Red Devils. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-0 last Thursday.

Haylie Hightower was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hightower was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mulberry got a massive performance out of Lorianys Castanon Cruz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Castanon Cruz has posted since back in February of 2024. Gracie Donalson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Mulberry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mulberry's record now sits at 14-10. As for Kathleen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Mulberry nor Kathleen have any future games scheduled.
