Softball Game Preview: Merrill Vandals vs. Coleman Comets

For the second straight game, Merrill will face off against Coleman. The Vandals will head out to challenge the Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Merrill has four straight victories, Coleman has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Merrill will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Coleman, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vandals came out on top against the Comets by a score of 15-11 on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

For Coleman's part, Kendall Allen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Allen hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Klaira Sysak, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Coleman's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Merrill, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
