Athens waltzed into their match on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Bluejays. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Athens was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-11.

Lydia Hart paced Athens' offense, picking up 15 kills. Hart got some help from Arabelle Cunningham and her 21 assists.

Athens' victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
