Basketball Game Preview: Pine Tree Pirates vs. Chapel Hill Bulldogs

Pine Tree is 1-6 against Chapel Hill since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 5:45 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Pine Tree didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Henderson by a score of 50-42 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Meanwhile, Chapel Hill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They snuck past the Bulldogs with a 38-32 victory.

Chapel Hill's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Pine Tree, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Pine Tree suffered a grim 52-29 defeat to Chapel Hill when the teams last played back in November of 2021. Can Pine Tree avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
