Volleyball Recap: Union Pines' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Union Pines had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Western Harnett on Thursday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Eagles. The victory was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on four straight.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-16, 25-16.

Mylee Scruggs had a dynamite game, getting 16 digs and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matchups. Cailee McNeil also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Union Pines was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 15 consecutive matches.

Union Pines' win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Western Harnett, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.
